Daniele Baccala born in London, UK, where she won a scholarship
to study at the Legat School of Russian Ballet, she underwent
six years intensive training with professional international teachers
and choreographers including Artistic Director Laverne Mayer.
Her extensive training included Classical Ballet both the Legat
and RAD syllabus, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap and Cultural dance.
Since arriving in Cairns in 1999 she has been involved as a performer
and choreographer in various arts projects in Far North Queensland,
including Festival Cairns, Australian Dance Week, On Edge Festival,
Carnival on Collins and Upholstery Art exhibitions to name a few.
Daniele’s focus in contemporary dance and collaborative
performance led her to found Diverse
Dance a Cairns dance collective in 2004 and become a partner
in the Cairns entertainment company Mixedlollies in 2003.
Daniele has been sharing her passion for dance teaching Classical
Ballet RAD syllabus, Jazz and Contemporary at the Regional Institute
of Performing Arts, in Cairns, for students aged three to adult
since 2003.
Daniele works as a workshop facilitator, specializing in youth
arts projects, working at the Tanks Arts Centre, Townsville River
Festival and various holiday programs. She has been invited as
a guest teacher/choreographer to Redlynch College, Kuranda College,
Freshwater State School, Gordonvale State School Hopevale State
School, Cooktown State High School and Yarrabah State High School.
